@BrewinHooligan's mischievous marshmallow (yummmmm),
I would absolutely buy one of these based solely on the name.

Undercrown Shade is a lighter one that I've been liking lately.
Picked one of these up the other day; really looking forward to trying it. Patience isn't one of my stronger character traits... getting use to waiting isn't going to come easy.

Dude, oliva V, did it blind, awesome pairing! Do it!
Any suggestions for Shiner Bock? I see that Drew Estates has a whole series based on beer pairings. Anyone tried/would recommend them? Seems a little gimicky, but if they're good, then they'd probably be good with or without the beer.

Never tried them, but i enjoy bocks with heavier sticks, maybe something wrapped in Connecticut broadleaf?

No ones mentioned the Roma Craft Intemperance EC XVIII. Im loving that for a milder end of the spectrum right now. Iv been smoking the Faith. I will say if you thought the Flor De Las Antillas was fuller then make sure you eat a good meal before that Oliva V. Thats a great smoke but has some umpf to it.

I have been partial from the beginning to Diamond Crown #4 Robusto's...very mild to me but have a cream/vanilla/light cedar component to them that I enjoy immensely. One that I tried just recently and think highly of is the Perla Del Mar P-G Connecticut. Another one I tried on a whim and enjoyed is the Tabanero "Sweet Lips" Limited Edition (made in Ybor City, Tampa, FL)....for $6 they were flavorful.

For mild and tasty, I like to have Pedormo Small Batch or Hoyo de Monterey Excalibur 1066. The Hoyo's I bought for a family member that happened to quit so I tried them and enjoy them. They are mild enough to retro hale without any peppery burn at all.
As for the La Aroma de Cuba, if you like the EE, you must try the Mi Amor Reserva. Definitely a great smoke but certainly not mild.

I don't see the following mentioned:
Any Fuente Hemmingway series
Casa Torono
CAO La Triviata

For Bocks, I would recommend stronger cigars. Otherwise, the beer will over power the cigar. At least, that's what my palate tells me. :)

Thanks again for all the advice here. I've compiled a list of everything suggested and will try to pick up a few this holiday weekend, depending on what the store has in stock. Last night I decided to try one I've had sitting for a couple of weeks, a Padron 2000 Maduro. Won't attempt a formal review, but will say I really liked it. Fuller flavor than most of the others I've had, and not creamy or nutty, instead much more wood, pepper, and so on. Stronger tobacco flavor to be sure, but not in a bad way. Wouldn't know how to explain it to someone who hasn't smoked cigars, but I think you'll know what I mean... the tobacco taste was layered, if that makes sense. Don't know how to put it into words, exactly, but it was good. Tonight I didn't plan to have a cigar, but instead grabbed a Scotch, and like I occasionally do a couple of squares of dark chocolate to go with it (it's good). On a whim, I decided to grab my only other 2000 Maduro, just to see if it would get washed out by the drink, or if it would match up better than the others I've tried. Wow. I'm trying to just have 1 or 2 of each cigar so I can get some different ideas, but it's going to be hard to resist picking up some more of those. That combination worked well. Nothing got washed out at all, instead it all complimented nicely. Cigar tasted as good or better than last night, with all the flavors really standing out against the drink, and it made the Scotch and even the chocolate better too. Anyone wants to try that combo, I recommend it. I have one other Padron, a 3000 Natural, and I foresee it meeting it's end this weekend, along with my lone Undercrown Shade. Since I just have one of each I'll stick to having water with them, but am looking forward to seeing what they have to offer.
Now I have to try and get some sleep before I start reading more of the dogrocket thread and stay up too late (again).
Cheers.

And so we're beyond the "mild" and tasty part of the journey. The Padron 2000 Maduro is considered a medium bodied, fuller cigar.
If you're looking to pair cigars with scotch and chocolate the list of recommendations is a lot different! Be prepared for some real slobber knockers. It's a fun trip with lots of really good cigars to taste along the way

For a milder smoke I'd recommend trying the Tatuaje Cabaiguan Natural. I found that smoke to be very enjoyable, considering I drift more toward the more med-full side the house. If you're dabbling in the more medium to full range Tatuaje Noella or Warped Corto are very tasty IMO. Just my two cents, hope you don't mind brother.

Been reading lots of good things about Illusione cigars. Really going to have to try one out soon. Hadn't heard/read much about AVO. Thanks for the suggestion, and I'll add it to my list of things to watch for.

Well, maybe, maybe not. Had a Don Pepin Blue tonight. Really liked it. Great flavor, tons of smoke, halfway through I wanted to go buy a box. Can't say much bad about it. Blast of pepper at first, but I don't mind that, and it mellowed out anyway. Only problem is that I'm still getting used to the nicotine. Didn't help that I probably smoked it a little fast, so I wound up a bit light headed. Not sick, just sort of feeling like "maybe I'll take a few minutes before standing up". The flavor was great, that's what I want... if I could get that level of flavor in something a little less potent, that would be about perfect (at least until I adjust a little more). Before I started in on the Blue label, I picked up a few My Father Connecticuts that were on sale, so I'll shift gears back down a little with those. On the advice of another customer, I also picked up an Ashton Aged Maduro that sounds interesting. We'll see how that one goes in a few weeks, I think. Have a list of everything suggested here, and next month I'll place an order for some singles or packs of 5 for some of them. Probably mix and match a few different price ranges so I can build up some stock.

Cheers

You eating before you smoke? Or during? That will help counteract the buzz you're getting

Didn't eat during, but had a meal a couple of hours before. Not an empty stomach, but not full either. When it started to hit, I grabbed a Dr Pepper because I remember reading a sweet drink and/or sugar can help. Still wound up feeling it a little, but never got sick or felt too queasy, just sort of unpleasantly buzzed/light headed. Knew it was stronger than I was used to so, I'll take my lumps and learn from it. Still enjoyed it though; Made the list of cigars I want to have again.
