CC's with 20 years aging potential

Hey BOTL I just bought a house and looking to celebrate by buying a box of CCs between $800 max. I know prices vary a lot by vendor.

I'm going to be smoking 1 cigar a year for the next 20 years (20yr mortgage) and I'm looking for advice on CCs in this price range with aging potential. Preferably current production cigars or limited within the last few years??? Don't know a lot about limited production CCs.

My research shows maybe HDM Hermosos No.4 Anejados???

Any help would be awesome, who knows I may end up hating them the first few years and liking them the last 10.

Siglo VI is an excellent call, but Hoyos, Ramon Allones Gigantes, Punch, San Cristobal, Partagas Lusitania, Upmann Sir Winston, etc

I've got boxes of Punch DC's, RA Gigantes and Sir Winstons from '97, and per other's suggestions all are winners after 20 years. For next tier price, Fundadores or Esplendidos would be my personal picks.

My advice would be go with the flavor profile you like best. If you don't know I would buy 2 of each DC and find the one you like best.

I am a fan of the Montes, id only buy a full box if they were maybe 230 tops.

I'd piggyback on this and say Esplendidos as well. I'm doing this with my son's birth. 3 years in. So far so good.

Some good replies so far. Can't go wrong with any of the Cohiba or double corona suggestions. I'd also recommending holding out for a few months and grabbing a box with the month/year code you closed on the house.

They aren't bad just overpriced, and there has been a lot of speculation of validity of the so called extra aging

There's no speculation. They took the revisado boxes that used to get sent back to HSA and made a program out of them..... look 5 years already aged!!!!

Ideally youll want whats been good recently right. I think a cab of Lusis fits the bill nicely; <$700 & theyve been good recently. 25ct box of Siglo makes sense for aging because youll take out a lot of the tanin bite that a lot of people dont care for in Siglos. As mentioned, favorites would be a great choice but I would stick to wood boxes.

I only have a handful of sticks that are nearing the 20 year mark and I havent been smoking them so I cant offer any real experience on the recent blends of Habanos over 18 years. Old blends (El Corojo) early 90s and earlier were much stronger blends and thus offered greater aging potential. Recent blends tend to fall off faster and 50 cabs tend to hold better.
