Varying humidity in wineador (cc-300)

Your silica beads are likely the same as Silica Kitty Litter. 4# for $5 at WalMart (MiMi brand).

If you got them too wet, dry them out on the lowest oven setting for about 20-30 minutes. After cooling put in a ziplock with a calibrated hygrometer and see what the Rh is. Mine new were 57. Get yours below your desired Rh, which they should be after oven drying.
Put your DW in a plastic spray bottle and bring the Rh up slowly by just giving them 2-3 sprays and then recheck their Rh. Repeat until you reach desired Rh. When the Rh drops 2-3% below your desired Rh, give them 2-3 sprays to bring them back. That is what they call training them. Really simple to do.
I keep 10# of KL in my 170 bottle wineador along with 2.5# of HF beads and I have to give them a few sprays about every 4 months or so. Takes a couple of minutes, unlike Bovedas that are expensive and take weeks to recharge.

I just leave mine outside of the humi if they're too wet. Seems to be working fine. But I use HCM (which I've never had to mess with) and KL which I just spray. Heartfelt seems to take on smells and discolors as well as not holding RH as well.

I also have Bovedas which cost me essentially nothing as I got them when I ordered cigars and a couple of bigger ones when they were giving them away. They have never taken weeks to recharge for me.

That's cool, whatever works on drying. I have never had to dry my beads or KL out, but have seen the oven method mentioned a few times and a friend did it to his and it was quick and easy.

I have two shallow trays with about a pound in each. One in the bottom and another on a shelf about three slots down. I have another shelf right above it that I stack boxes on currently.
