Making Cigar Molds

This thread will discuss the things I've learned during the cigar mold creation adventure. I make them with my 3d printer and my mini CNC. Both of them were highly customized by myself. I also design the molds in CAD. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer them. I'm by no means am an expert, and you should not try this at home! I will add more to this randomly as I have time. For now, here are a few pictures showing my hobby.

Software I use:

Grbl on the Arduino controller
Raspbian on the raspberry pi (I can let the CNC run that way without a computer attached)
Vnc to share the raspberry pi desktop across my network (it's installed on raspbian)
Bcnc on the raspberry pi to feed gcode to the Arduino
Fusion360 to create the cad and cam tool paths.

All software is open source except fusion 360, but that is free for hobbiests. It's really great software.

It's not the ring size, it's the curved head and straight sides. The most topical cigar shape. Good question.
