I got a DE hat with the same garbage. Had to take a seam ripper to it, and to the hashtag on the backI have a Liga 9 hat that has a health warning patch on the side.
If I had a DE hat, the only thing I'd leave on it would be the warning label.I got a DE hat with the same garbage. Had to take a seam ripper to it, and to the hashtag on the back
More Undercrown Sungrowns, FSGs, and UF13s for me! Youre willfully missing out on some great new sticksIf I had a DE hat, the only thing I'd leave on it would be the warning label.

I used to really be in to DE stuff. Not so much anymore. Their stuff is fine. My palate moved on. The hat was a freebie I won at a tent event a couple years back.More Undercrown Sungrowns, FSGs, and UF13s for me! Youre willfully missing out on some great new sticks
Now I could understand your palate moving on from a specific blend or wrapper leaf, but from an entire brand? You know they don't all taste the same right?I used to really be in to DE stuff. What?!? They don’t?!?Now I could understand your palate moving on from a specific blend or wrapper leaf, but from an entire brand? You know they don't all taste the same right?
Well I guess if you automatically know you wont like it because of the name, then you wouldn't knowWhat?!? They don’t?!?
I have been waiting to try that UC sun grown. I'm not saying I don't like their stuff (I question the authenticity of the Liga line) but I don't like doing advertising for a company unless they're paying me, aside from posting here, that is. Posting on a forum with friends is one thing. Being a walking advertisement is another.More Undercrown Sungrowns, FSGs, and UF13s for me! Youre willfully missing out on some great new sticks
I see your point for most types of branded apparel, but in my experience cigar swag seems to only get noticed by cigar smokers (most people have no idea who don pepin garcia is and wont ask) most of whom have already formed a pretty solid opinion of whatever brand youre wearing. I love my Don Pepin Hat, but don't really wear the DE one because it's not my style.I have been waiting to try that UC sun grown. This thread sort of drifted off topic.... that's OK, it happens. It's the law. Most of the cigars I buy now come with a warning. There may be a compliance window that some haven't made the ad copy change yet?
Have you noticed the changes on some sites that no longer have smiling faces and kid friendly images with cigars.
This makes sense to me, that Romeo and Macanudo are the bigger, older and more well known companies, therefore the most scrutinized, and also the least likely to turn off customers with a warning label. They can comply immediately because they have the name, they dont need to catch peoples eyes like the smaller, less well known factories. This thread sort of drifted off topic.... that's OK, it happens.
But to get back on topic, I have noticed over a past few years that some adds have warnings and some don't. I find it hard to believe that it is a compliance window since it has been going on for some time and why would anyone post a big warning if they still had time to advertise without one. If I open the latest issue I see full page ads for example;
Oliva - no warning
Padron - no warning
Romeo - warning
Ashton - no waring
Fuente - no warning
Macanudo - warning
Maybe it has to do with US based companies vs foreign based companies.
Are you serious Scott....wth. It;s a freaking hat - but i guess that's considered advertisement.I have a Liga 9 hat that has a health warning patch on the side.
Let's just say his palate jumped on a boat and sailed south....lolNow I could understand your palate moving on from a specific blend or wrapper leaf, but from an entire brand? You know they don't all taste the same right?
I guess you're right. It surprises me because here in Canada we've had warnings on all tobacco related advertising since 1988 (30 years) !This makes sense to me, that Romeo and Macanudo are the bigger, older and more well known companies, therefore the most scrutinized, and also the least likely to turn off customers with a warning label. You guys have the nasty pictures on your cigarettes too right?I guess you're right. It surprises me because here in Canada we've had warnings on all tobacco related advertising since 1988 (30 years) !
