Today's Bourbon

Been having a bit of tooth pain lately (possible root canal) with not much help from my usual pain killers...so I did what I would think most cowboys would've done back in the old pioneer days and poured me a glencairn of 129.5 proof of Stagg Jr. (neat of course). It actually soothed most of the pain, until I witnessed an even worse pain............an empty glass lol

First off its a rye that has almost no spice. At least to me. Super sweet on the finish, almost cloying. Dark dark red fruit. Again for whisky that's just not usually the case for me. Haha. But retains enough of the typical whisky flavors as well. Just a crazy mix of rye and port which is exactly what they were going for.

It's great. I enjoy it. But I get why some wouldn't. But for me as well it's also a once a week type drink. Which is OK anyway because of the price!
