I remember my dad picking up his brand new chisel and spear from the blacksmith. Did not make to many extra holes back then. Now I use my 20volt Dewalt brushless drill with a Nils 6" or 8" bit. The 6" will go thru 20" of ice in less than 30 seconds. I have been phasing out my gas motor unless the ice gets thicker than 25". The clothes and boots we have now are soooooo much better then the crap we used when I was a kid. I always have some sort of shelter to get out of the elements. Right now I have 6 different shacks from a 1 man up to a shelter that will hold 6 people if needed. No reason to get cold but hate setting stuff up in these temps because it always seems that stuff happens and it is never good.

I remember going out with my step dad and him using a hand auger to cut holes. We were out there in the open and I was just not prepared as a preteen to sit out in the open air and on the ice. That cold just went right through my boots. He eventually started using a portable shelter, but not until I was older and out of the house. :p

I'm officially done with facebook. I got a week long ban. This was the quickest ban I've gotten since the last one. So I'm going to get my friend's contact info and delete my account. Nobody has time for snowflakes that can't stand the truth and get their feelings hurt like little bitches.

I won't go into detail since I value my membership here and I don't want to offend or start shit with anyone over politics. I will say this though. It was extremely politically incorrect, as most of my facebook comments typically are.
