Wish I had more of these, but if I did it would not be what it is.
I remember exactly where I was, what the weather was like and who I got this from. A hidden little cigar shop that you would only know was there by a tiny sign or one of those exhaustive google searches we all do for a local B&M. Down the road from one of the great B&Ms in Virginia Beach. The old Salt “Mr P” mentored me in all things Navy. He had the experience, went from a slick sleeve deck hand, selected for Chief, selected to Master Chief and then went Warrant Officer. I was and STS1 at the time and was pretty pessimistic about getting selected for Chief. He talked to me for a long time. There is something much more about experiences like these at B&Ms that transcends the cigars. Finding that shop that you didn’t know was there and seeing all the hidden gems had that child like feeling of a spot in the woods that only you know about. Finding someone that with only words can inspire you to change, or look at life a different way.
