Much love Dom 56, but this is the first thing I thought of when I saw your post of what the cylindrical object was.F6DB6F80-15CE-48B7-8F37-3F864C17F7AC.jpeg

Did the toothbrush work alright.
It looks that most of the grime was removed inside the mold before you got it.
Maybe what is outside was inside?
Tobacco grime I scrape away with an edge of a knife and a pick.
Solvents or aggregates I have used sparingly.
The staining of the wood won't hurt at all.

Since the mold has been used for decades, I didn't consider any solvents to clean it coz I'm afraid of further damage to the wood.

I can't tell what's staining and what's tobacco grime. All came into my mind is dirt/bacteria. Don't want to put them in my mouth.

Toothpaste works fairly well. Now I dare to lick it. But maybe even I don't use toothpaste, after six times brushing, it could be the same clean? Who knows.

Just recently pulled the trigger on a cheap mold from cigarbid. I'm actually quite impressed. Bought it with the purpose of using it as a mold but accepting that it could be low quality and better be used as a decoration. I payed 13 bucks plus 5 bucks shipping for the "B quality". Definitely recommend for someone new who doesn't want to shove out the big bucks just yet. The issue is that you don't know what you are going to get so you could get a size you don't want or if you buy twice you might get two of the same mold. My mold is around a 40 ring gauge I believe and about 6 inches. Makes a fun little smoke and does it well. Don't bid on it any higher than about 20 bucks for the B quality. They sell the same ones on cigars international for 22.

Has anyone else had any luck buying from here?

That is a damn nice mold for the price!! I don't know if I could buy blind not knowing the size, but I put molds that are in rougher shape through a ton of work
