First off no I did not buy cigars from a grocery store. I was in a Food Lion today and checking out I saw they carry Acid Kuba Kubas and Blondies, which I've seen in some bodegas, but they also had a Punch and a Macanudo. I didn't realize Punch and Macanudo had cigars in the foil packs. Is this new or just new to me.

I’ve saw the foil packs at 7/11. I’ve bought the Acid blue / green packs for $2/pack, they were terrible, LOL.

I’m sure there’s a market for them though, and someone will buy them.

I think the punch and God forbid the macs are newer and will do really well for them. That is if they can hit the sweet spot with msrp.

The Punch and Macanudo where right around $7. But I see them doing well in my area. There's a few bodega' s that have decent sized humidors with premium brands, though they're never maintained, so there must be a market in my area

i think thats why they started doing the foil packs for premiums too, since most corner stores and even tobacco stores dont know how to properly store cigars anymore. Grocery store in town had a humidor with cigars that were good at one point... but not by the time i got to them. I bought a A. Fuente Short story and it was dry as a bone :c. I went back and told them they needed to humidify them, and that the little sponge they were using didnt do anything if it wasnt kept moist, and that the RH needed to be at least at 65%, but they got offended and told me there supplier was supposed to do it! They removed the humi about a month later and i dont offer suggestions anymore to stores.

So it's just a matter of time before all the 4 and 5 cigar, humidified sampler packs by Rocky and others end up in our corner time saver?

these packs came about several years back in golf course pro shops. maybe '08 ?
The Macanudo , Hoyo and Partagas brands were most recognized nationally, so they were first.
usually two cigars in a pack with two sizes available.
The first packs were plastic with the cigar's logo and some blurb about freshness.

That wouldn't be a bad deal... Like @Unpossible_1 said, better than nothing in a pinch if you can handle the selection... Also figure it would introduce more people to our hobby, which is good for all of us in the long run

Guy I know has a gift shop he sell maybe 16 - 18 difference Cigars, he has nice little (1) or (2) Cigar Gift boxes. Cigar are one of the items you can buy a a a gift. All I know is he is smart enough to to have something you can gift a cigar smoker in his shop.

Didn’t AB have a 2 pack of cigars that could be had at gas stations? I know they sell the 4 packs (fresh pack). Could have sworn I seen a 2 pack at one time also.

The Kroger here in my town has a countertop humidor in the wine section. They have it stocked with about 10 different cigars. Montecristo, Romeo & Julieta, Oliva, etc.... Surprisingly, they are properly humidified.
