So I bought a box of 10 churchill shorts to age, but had to try one. Needless to say it was amazing and I smoked it down to a nub. With that being said I plan to pickup a couple of boxes of 20 on my next trip. I’m still branching out with CC’s, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for something else to try along the same lines. Thanks in advance!

Curious what the box code on your batch was? I recently got a dic15 box of those and they seemed a bit flat to me. Not that I have a ton of experience with cc’s but I prefer the vegueros tapados and boli Coronas junior I got over the short Churchill’s so far. Both a bit cheaper than the ryj per stick actually.

The box code is oms16. It smoked perfect start to finish and had great flavor. Overall a very smooth smoke. I’ll check out what you recommended. I’ve had nc boli’s and I remember them being good. Cheaper sticks means my budget goes further. :)

If you’re like me and you like cheap check out vegueros. Light Creamy woody nutty and surprisingly good construction.

The Cuban Bolivars will not resemble the flavor of NC Bolivars in any way.

Among the various vendors, you will find the Monte masters series have box codes that are years old.
This is for a very good reason, and I am sure you can guess why.
One of Habanos SA's biggest blunders.

Take advantage of the experience of the members here, and do not go walking blindly into the Jungle that is CCs.
And yes, boxes of 20, just to confuse the subject I suppose.

The RyJ Ex 4 is a solid recommendation, the thing that I notice about RyJ is even when its fresh, its quite smooth. Because of that I'd also recommend Hoyo Epicure No 2, which dont seem to have a lot of harshness to them even when fresh either.

It's not jumping out at me Tom. What is it? That the second band almost seems NC?
