Slot 2: Olor binder and CVVA Habano Seco; CV Coro Lig, 2 leaves

Slot 3. Same formula, with CV CriolloLig.

I don't know if you missed the bus but it looks like you did. Each of these, including slot #3, is 2 secos (1 in the filler, 1 in the binder) and 2 ligeros, so a 50/50 mix of seco/ligero leafs plus the wrapper. The total ligero tends to weight ~1g more than seco, e.g. 8g seco, 9g ligero. So maybe 53% ligero.

If you do 1 1/3 CV C98 ligero, 2/3 VA Hab seco but keep the binder at 1 leaf seco, then you've got 1.66 leaf seco to 1.33 leaf ligero. That's a semi-lot less ligero instead of a little more ligero.

I was offering a way you could slim down your manifest without changing the blend.

I broke out that criollo ligero today finally. It be pungent, mine had a touch of ammonia in the aroma. Did a modified Black Eyed Specialist: 1 leaf criollo ligero, 1 leaf piloto cubano ligero (wlt), 1/2 leaf Jorge ligero (large leaves, no mojo this round), instead of the ec seco binder I'm trying the nica binder. A few will get the standard Mata Fina, the rest will get FX Smith shade. Also scaled up from 44rg to 50.

Ho! I like that MF wrapper. Nice & sweet. May have some left. Have to experiment with that tonight.

Made and burnt a plump Bliss perfecto last night. A great success. I'll try that with the MF tonight.

This shit is fun, you know that?

I use quite a bit of that Mata Fina wrapper. Lots of flavor and that sweetness is really nice.

This is more than fun, this is a serious addiction that I have...

You guys like strong cigars, all that ligero and all.
The "new" ligero we're trying is really nice. It's got nice white pepper spice I've been missing and sufficient strength that I don't need more than one leaf in a cigar.
You folks must like 'em stronger than I.

Last night I rolled one:
1 leaf CV criollo ligero (new stuff)
half leaf of crojo viso (old stuff)
1 leaf of CV seco
Sumatra binder
EC ligero wrapper
Oh, and half a leaf of Brazilian viso for some extra sweetness.
I'd use a BMF wrapper next time or some Perique in it. I like the ligero.

Let's hope they age well as I want to make more of this.

Yes it is fun. Also when you folks say "new leaf" then I must have it. (the CV stuff is new to me)
For a Criollo the ligero has a minimum of the grassy or tart flavor but has a just right amount of white pepper and some other flavors tossed in. It's good stuff.

...There goes another $100 on leaf. I'm really loving the CVV Hab Seco and Ligero. I rolled a 3-leaf purito with the CVV Hab Ligero and it tasted just as smooth as the seco. Call me crazy.
I've not had a chance to try the CV Criollo Ligero, but that's part of my order based on your guys' ranting (can't wait!).
Question about the Mata Fina: Is the MF wrapper that's on LO the sweet stuff you guys are talking about? I don't even see MF wrapper for sale on WLT, just the MF filler (and even that's out of stock right now).
I'd love to try some of this stuff before plunking down 50 bucks on a pound, unless somebody can vouch for the stuff on LO being the right stuff. Lemme know.

Yes the MF wrapper is from LO. Try a 1/4lb sample, see if it works for your blends. I have a feeling you will like it.

I think this new CV Corojo viso is better than both the new CV Corojo Ligero and the other Corojo viso. By which I mean I like it more. Also, and I know I might be trippin, the new CV Corojo viso SEEMS stronger than the new CV Corojo ligero, with so-far limited testing.

When I had emailed Don regarding the old corojo viso being out of stock, he had stated that customers are saying the new cibao valley stuff is better and has taken their cigars from good to amazing. I'm glad to hear positive reports from someone I trust

Bliss, if you have a bit of MF wrapper hanging round, t r y this. Adds just that hint of chocolate sweetness.

This nub started life as a plumpfecto. It's obvious I need to get back in the fecto game, cause I had all sorts of difficulty getting the right amount of filler in the bunch and the wrap was an adventure. Out of practice. Rolling most all coronas this last year. But the good side of that is I will get to torch a whole load of tasty rejects on tne way to rebuilding skill.
