Depends on what wood is used in between the cedar veneers. Even if its spanish cedar layers they are going to be sealed in by the glue used to hold the layers together.
Ah ok, guess we will never know

Have you made any boxes out of Spanish cedar to store singles? I used those two trays you sent me as the floor for a bit plastic tote. They’re legit.

Spanish cedar is actually a variety of mahogany.
Chuck did not know that.
He also will not tell us how long be has been smoking Cuban cigars.
All he knows is that he knows his own palate, and that he knows more about cigars than anybody.
except Partagas boxes.......

They quit using Spanish cedar for wood boxes and SLB/cabs a long long time ago. I have doubts about that little sheet in boxes packed in the last 5 years.
Side note: If your humidor has Spanish cedar in it and the aroma has faded you can sand it a little and it usually becomes more fragrant.

You are correct Sir. Still smells purdy good. Are you saying other mahogany woods should be tried in the experiment? Trying to connect the dots.

Chucks a Marine which is good enough for me, at least while there are Army guys around, haha! Actually he has been a Marine in all of his 7 lives, each of which he was smoking Cubans.

Other mahoganies wont have the same fragrance as the spanish cedar but can be used for humis since the wood is pretty stable in humid environments.
