I just got out of the B&M. I picked up some more AF Short Story Maduros.

So the regular rounded cap were $6.60 and the pointed tip were $8.60. I inquired as to why the pointed was so much more expensive and the manager there claimed that pointed tips are harder to roll so they cost more.

I honestly called bullshit and even flat out told the sales clerk his manager needs to study cigars more and doesn't know what the fuck he is talking about. But then I thought. Is this true???? Same blend and length of stick is $2 more?? This sounds like total BS to me. Yes the pointed tip concentrates the flavors but is it harder to roll? A $2 price difference over a slight difference in shape?

Enlighten me guys. Was I a cocky douchebag or no?

You ask that like it's a bad thing. Badge of honor around here. LOL

Several home-rollers around here vastly more qualified to comment on them being more difficult, so I'll let someone else make that call.

But I'm a little confused. Didn't realize there were 2 different types of Short Story Maduros. Thought all Hemingways were perfectos with a pointed tip, just different lengths (Short Story being the 4" size). Were the other ones possibly not Hemingways? Maybe a Fuente expert can jump in and educate me.

Torpedoes are not harder to roll. Maybe even easier to wrap, those caps are simply wrapper swung around a few times.

But torpedoes are typically 6 inches long and are usually lumped into the toro price point. Length and rg justify higher price.

Except perfectos, those are a bitch to wrap
