What am I missing here? I haven’t seen anyone arguing against letting people join this forum from Reddit. I simply pointed out that this forum isn’t set up as site to sell cigars, and if that’s what someone is looking for, they are going to be disappointed here. I’ve seen others draw that conclusion as well. Not really sure what you are talking about. Please explain.

I get it — it’s like being a party with your friends and then one of them invites a bunch of other randoms over from another party. Chances are they’re not all interested in the same thing. Some of us weren’t on the site to flip things — some of us just need a spot to call home now.

This forum relies on new people constantly joining it. Without new members this place can get pretty stale in a short amount of time. You get all kinds of different people who join up. Most of them are great guys who just want to come on and have a place to talk about cigars and whatnot, and share some camaraderie with others who enjoy the same hobby. Some of the people that join are trolls, or bigots, or scumbags, or people just looking to make a quick buck off of the brotherhood. That’s fine too, those people usually weed themselves out shortly.
A few years ago another forum, Puff, collapsed and we got a ton of new guys joining up from there. Some of them left after a little while, but most of them stayed around, and in the end BotL was better for it.
If you’re here, and you are looking for a home, I say welcome brother.

+1 Mossy ! Just to clarify, there was some spontaneous site "down time" over there. However, the real "collapse" was after a lot of people, myself included, left Puff due to all the drama over there. I remember the banning started, some appeared random muscle flexing via Administration. This became more cannon fodder for angry open debate. This further made participation somewhat unrewarding, to say the least. Many found logging into a site to read a daily dose of bickering really served no purpose. Then it imploded on itself, resulting in mass exodus out of there.

Please, Gentlemen. Remember our code here. This is for us to create or destroy.

I light one before and right after. There's something about that nicotine kick going straight to the lungs and brain. That rush. The taste of the cigarette smoke as you exhale.

I used to way back when I smoked camels or Marlboro. I think because cigars don't give you the additives you crave when you're used to them. Now even with the American spirit organics, some of the best tasting and strongest cigs, they still taste like crap after a cigar, and it's usually a good while after before I need the nicotine.

Wifes away at a women's conference, kids aren't being their best, got some pretty disconcerting tooth pain going on, goats got in the shop and made a mess, had to take an animal to the vet today, and having a hell of a time trying to work with csv files to try to get ready for a meeting on Monday, and have to be at church 2 & 1/2 hours early tomorrow.
Really looking forward to Tuesday....

Take some Sensodyne toothpaste and rub it on the sore tooth. This will temporarily relieve the pain.

My weekend to help run the A/V board for the children's services, and my daughter is performing for the whole music service. Hence the need to be early and I can't skip it, and I won't get to see her perform since I'll be helping with the kids....
