I'm sure this thread exists somewhere but I couldn't find it. Newbie question so be gentle with me .
Humidor humidity, as I understand it, should be 70% ballpark, 70°. Once seasoned and established and holding very consistent humidity is there a benefit to tweak humidity and temp based on types of cigar?? Length of storage??What do you guys keep yours at??

Probably one of the best pieces of advice I received after joining this forum was to lower my humidity to 65%. All of my burn issues, cracking, bitterness, etc. magically went away after moving to that number. I’m not sure where the 70/70 number ever came from because from my experience 65/65 is MUCH better.

Recently, as I have begun smoking more CCs, I have started followed the advice of others here that are “in the know” and am now keeping my CCs in the 62 range. Those that are in my “aging” cooler are currently sitting at 65.

++ for 65%. Since I have the self control of a 2 year old on Christmas when I get deliveries I can't help but pull one out to try it. That being said nearly everything I've smoked has been anywhere from somewhat to orders of magnitude better in terms of smoking experience after they've been at 65 (this is specific to NC as they're the only ones in my stash currently) and had time to adjust.

Someone should tag @Glassman since he stores at 72 and complains about draw issues

Shiiiiit. The hell. I just actually like to get some smoke out of the damn cigar. That "milkshake draw" doesn't cut it for me. ;)

I have my NC coolers at 65 and the cc's at 62. If Boveda made a 67 I'd get a cooler for aging. Though I guess 69 would be fine...

Wish I knew. I read that 70/70 advice too, and the first stuff I purchased to maintain RH was set for 70%; Never could get anything to smoke well. I have everything (NCs) at 65 now and have very few issues.
