So when I built my wineador a few months back I went with 4x 320g Bovedas at 65%. They've been holding nice and steady but I lose quite a bit of space to those (and if I replaced with the typical 60g packs there'd be so many that I'd have the same problem).
So after looking at my alternatives (Heartfelt, Kitty Litter, HCM) I settled on HCM beads. I did this based on a few things:
- HCM only required 8oz for my NewAir 281E (16 if you double as suggested) - vs the 2lbs of heartfelt and a whole bag of kitty litter (i'm exaggerating there)
- They come preset at 65% (can get HF the same but kitty litter requires a bit of work to get it stable where you want it)
- Set it and forget it like the Boveda stuff.
So I went with 16oz and am loving it. Was it a bit pricey? Sure. Did I reclaim 30+ cigars worth of space along with room for another box? Yep sure did. Would I do it again? Absolutely while not spending on Bovedas.
On that note I have ... a few 84, 69 and 65% 320g Bovedas that I'm willing to part with. Any takers? We can work something out
