The great white north may be an arid cold deadzone filled with huskys and polar bears during winter, but comes July we hit 100 degrees and 90% RH

Well, it's this time of year again.
The heat pump cools the house, the dehumidifier cries about a gallon a day trying to keep up, and my wino is now above 75%

I'd say I managed to keep the garage (where the lounge is, so where the wino is) under 80, but I cannot wait for the air to get drier.

There's bubbles when we breath outside air, and birds are swimming in mid air. I saw a squirrel with a bathing suit cross the street, talking about the neighbors pool.

No jokes, it's hard to light a fire pit in the backyard because of all the humidity.

Well, it's raining today. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Are there other places like that or us it just the Montréal of July?

Yeah, that suck.
Do you manage to keep your humidor to an OK level?

Last year I used the dehumidifier exhausted air directly in the wino for half an hour when it reached 78. Worked, but it not an interesting task.

I use tuppers and boveda. RH stays right on. in the summer I keep them in my basement, the temperature depends on the weather. this summer has been hot, so they are sitting in the high 70's (that's 25ish Canadian :)). so far, never had an issue. I figure it's hotter in Cuba, right?

I need the air conditioner to keep inside the house that low recently. We've had one of the worst heat wave in recent history.

My problem is double. The garage rh is high, and the temperature is also high. Now, my wino cooling system hits when we reach these temperatures... But that in turn causes more humidity.

So, yeah, I have high rh.

Can you run tuppers inside of the wino for the summer? zip lock bags? something to keep the RH down, for the hot months?

as cool as wino's look and as much as I wanted one when I first joined BOTL, I read things like this and just love my stupid simple ugly Tupperware that much more.

I have cigar boxes on the shelves of the wino. Bovedas in the boxes, bovedas in the wino. If it is 88%rh outside and 79%rh in the garage, then I still have a good 68-70% inside the boxes.

I still think the wino is the way to go for me. Tupperdores are still a very good option.

I feel your pain. Humidity is sitting at 13% right now. It's brutal.
Yeah, yeah. I'll show myself out.
13%?

Thats something harsh!

The worst we get is about 25% at the end of winter and I dislike it very much.

Although I have more control adding rh to my wino than taking some off...
But 13%!!!

It's beautiful. Sweating actually works.

If you go swimming here in the summer, you can sometimes get an odd sensation. When it's really hot (115+), and low humidity (<10%) and you get out of the pool, sometimes you'll shiver and feel cold for a couple of seconds. The water evaporates off so fast, you get cold. Like wiping your skin with alcohol. (y)

I will take the low rh over high any day. I am already dreading my return from vacation to the high humidity of MO and thats over a week away. Although where i am now says its 64%humidity, also 67 degrees. I can deal with that.
Good luck Yan!

This.

We have the same weather nearly year round here in Houston. It's not so bad with everything being air-conditioned, but it can be quite a trial keeping your stogie lit! :banghead:
