Hey all!

Been lurking here and at the cigar Reddit for a little while. Finally had to join after I found several hours of enjoyment from the Dog Rocket box pass thread.

Smoked cigars for years on occasion when fishing or golfing. Finally started smoking regularly a few months ago. Smoking maybe 10 a week now. Like to share cigars with buddies at work and my dad.

I'm looking forward to getting to know and learn from the people in the community. I'm heading to Amsterdam shortly and looking to maybe, despite the inflated prices, bring a few boxes back to rest in a tupperdore.

I'll post some photos of the current stash when I can figure that out without deleting the thread.

Anyhow, hello to my fellow BOTL and SOTL!
Mike

Figured it out. Yeah the humidity is a touch high and I'm working on it. (It's a new humidor after I gave my old one to a buddy.)

Welcome to BOTL from down south of you in Winona @DFLguy! It’s always good to see another Minnesotan join the group here :D

I connected though Amsterdam Schipol airport on my way back from Germany last year and stopped at one of the duty free shops. The selection was no5 great but the prices were actually pretty reasonable. I was able to pick up some montecristo petite edmundos and partagas Mille fluers for not a lot of money.

Nice! Winona is a lovely city.
There's a 100-year-old tobacco shop in Amsterdam called PGC Hajenius, it's two stories, they do tours and is supposed to be pretty amazing. The prices as far as I can tell, looking at a few local shops are (with tax) about $15 for a Hoya Double Corona, $17 for a Partagas Lusitania. So it's a tad higher than I'd pay for larger cigars, but the novelty of coming back with a couple boxes of something (Romeo petite churchhills/Punch royal coronations/Bolivar royal coronas) in a smaller size for like $200-250 a box seems entirely reasonable.

Again, thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
