Opie, that's exactly what I was looking for.
The freezer we have is set to -20C, so -4F
Now, the core of the stick is not instantly exposed to that, which is why we give it time, but as soon as it has been at -4F for an hour, the issue is resolved.
The second problem is cigar acclimatation to humidity and temperature. Hard changes in temperature isn't good for anything, and something as delicate as cigars even more. That's why the suggested fridge transition to and from the freezer.
But, as I mentioned several times already, transit in the mail in the Canadian weather is far worst than anything we can do with a fridge or freezer.
But, yeah, my stash will transit from freezer to fridge before going back in the wino.
