My sister is getting married and my brother-in-law (who I actually do like) is particular about his cigar size [maybe it is all in his head but he says that he has a favorite size].
These will be going to people who smoke very occassionally (maybe every 2 months and 2-3 ISOMs ever) and some who never smoke. So, I don't want to spend too much. But, if I can pick a brand that others have heard of so they know they are smoking the real deal, that is a plus.

Any recommendations?

It could be that his measurements are off. Thanks for all your help, it looks like a robusto is the right size.
I like the RASS and that looks like it may be the best price. Any other robusto you can recommend for a non-smoker crowd?

Never mind, I just saw the Robusto poll so I will check out those recommendations.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

That is a weird size...kind of in between a robusto/hermoso #4 and a tpc/minuto.

:dunno:
Definitely strange size. Find out which is most important to him, RG or length. From your description of the crowd, I'd choose a less expensive box on the lighter side. ERdM PC, RyJ Mille Fleur, Punch Petite Punch and H.Up PC come to mind, but my top choice with this criteria would be an Hoyo du Prince. Then throw in a few specials for the groom.

... or there's the robusto direction.

Based on the poll on another thread, I'm thinking of going PSD4. Is this going to be too strong for non-smokers?

I would suggest the Hoyo Epi #2 which is considered a "starter" CC cigar for someone with as little smoking time as you have mentioned. The PSD4 can be a kick ass cigar. I had them at my daughters wedding and sadly threw away many 1/4 smoked cigars while the Hoyo went over very nicely.

Very nice cigar and a very cool gift.

I would have to agree. PSD4's will leave you with a lot of green, sick guests. I find the Choix Supreme to be very mild, but others may differ.

$200 is not a big deal for a wedding but I still think buying a box of Cuban robustos for occasional smokers is a waste of money. IMO you'd be better off with some tubos, i.e. RyJ No.2 because the tube can be kept as a keepsake, kept in the pocket when ready to smoke, cheap, etc.
