I haven't had a truly good Mag46 since 2005 box codes. Used to love this cigar. One would think that the most highly regarded cigar company in the world (Habanos SA) would be able to produce a consistently quality product.

Really sucks to hear this about one of my favorite cigars.. I bought a few sticks in Cancun at the LCDH about 4 years ago. They did smoke very well. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on some tomorrow too. I'll pass for now until I hear better things on current production. I normally like these young with less than 6 months on them and then don't touch them again for 4-5 years. Thats when they really start to open up and the flavors seem to meld into something smooth and rich. The richness is what I love about them.

Anyone know if the Sir Winstons are having the same issues? They were also on my with list for tomorrows purchase.

I've had fresh Sir Winnies out of a few different boxes over the last couple years, and I thought they were very good. Head and shoulders above fresh Mag 46s for my palate.
I haven't heard anything good about the recent mag 46's. Thats sad actually. Decided to pull the trigger on a few boxes of the royal robustos instead. Also taking a chance on a box of Monte 3 's from 08. for now anyway. :).

After the responses here and some other digging I did, I made the best educated request I could , crossed my fingers and took the risk. Seems like I lucked out.

Connie A or 1 would have probably been a safer bet, and I do wish I’d hopped on the RR deal.
