So I recently lost a DVD at Blockbuster.....long story but it involved grocery shopping, a shopping cart and me losing the DVD. Oh well shit happens, that is unitl what I saw they wanted to charge me for one disc out of a TV series. $53 bucks. Well I found my own copy and returned that. No way I was paying that much.

Blockbuster's not the best at customer service when it comes to this kind of thing. One of the reasons I don't bother with them much any more.

We stopped using Blockbuster years ago for a similar reason...

I returned two movies to their night drop box; a month later, we got a letter in the mail saying that we didn't return one of the two movies and that they were going to bill us $80.00 for it! WTF?!? We called them on the phone and told them we returned both at the same time and that they must have just misplaced it incorrectly logged it or something. They basically told us "too bad, here's a bill for $80 bucks".

In a fit of intense rage, I went over to the actual Blockbuster store and took up the issue with the pimply-faced manager. I cursed his azz upside down and backwards, disparaging his entire family lineage in the process. Other patrons started starring, and as I intensified my actions they just left the store, taking their children with them, who probably shouldn't hear the kind of colorful language I was spewing. Eventually they called the cops (I think it was after about the 30th "motherf***er" I dropped) and I figured I'd finally gotten my $80 worth of enternainment out of the deal.

I smiled, waved, and walked out saying, "have a nice f***ing day!" :waving:

Similiar Blockhead experience. Years back (late 90's), they claim I didn't return a video dropped in their overnight bin. Late charges mounted up until they were enough to send me threatening letters. I told them I returned it, ontime and they could stick their fees up their ass. They finally turned the matter over to a collection agency - but I gave them the same directions on where to look for the money. I never heard back. I joined Netflix then and have never set foot in a Blockhead store since.

Netflix RULES!!

The only problem we have is instead of turning in one of the movies every few days we hold on to them for a long time, (out of apathy), then turn all three of them in at once and have to wait for several days until the next batch comes in.

I have no time to rent movies for the most part. What with the DVR and everything that takes up my time, not too mention all of the online $5 DVD sales lately, I certainly don't find myself inclined to head over to the big blue ticket.

I had a very similar experience with them too, I'll never go there again. Althought my late fee was like some $300 or so. I told them to get bent.

My niece went there and got a dvd then called and said she lost it and they only charged her 15 bucks. She kept it with no problems. The told her it happens all the time. She said it was cheaper than paying late fees. Of course this is Bumf*** West Virginia..

Hasn't happened to me. The only thing that makes me mad with Blockbuster is getting in scratched DVD's and having to skip a scene or two, or it just quits working all together.

I have done Netflix in the past , but the wife and I are too busy now so I stopped my membership. We just rent a movie off cable a few times a month if that.
