Anyone tried any of the Anejados line?

I have tried a couple of the RyJ Anejados Churchills and the H.Upmann Robustos Anejados and they were pretty good, but really not worth the pretty high price tag in my opinion.

For any who might not know, the Anejados are supposedly aged 5 to 8 years in the box prior to release.

Not sure I buy the Anejados "story", but I have really enjoyed the Partagas and Upmanns.

Strange that I find the light colored wrapper Partagas ones far tastier than the darker.

I agree that I'm skeptical of them too, but I'm unable to age any smokes for the 5 to 8 years they claim for space and budget reasons, so i can't really compare them to ones of a for sure known age.

That said, they were very nice smokes, but very pricey

I'm a big fan of Partagas and would love to try their Coronas Gordas Anejados, but my vendor only has them in full boxes, so they are beyond my monthly budget.

i like them, esp. the RJ pyramid. And most of the sizes are not normal production, like the Montecristo Churchill
I think that’s the thing that troubles people the most though. Is it more likely that they rolled all these cigars and aged them for years without announcing it first and no one found out about it until release, or that they had a bunch of cigars left over for years that were supposed to be something else they just rebranded and released?

Considering the mixed reviews I have read coupled with the higher cost, I have been hesitant to invest in a box.

As a result of this, I have yet to try any of them.

I’ve had both the Partagas and HDM from this line.

I gotta say, I’d rather buy and age myself. For the coin, I didn’t see it worth it for me.
I’d rather age standard stuff. I think you get better results that way.

Please keep in mind I’m talking about only trying from 2 boxes in total. That’s probably not a fair sampling. However, I had the same reaction to both.

Sorry, wasn't trying to disparage anyone's knowledge of the line or cc's in general.

Didn't see it in a search, sorry.
Tapatalks search function doesn't seem to be the greatest

no worries, sometimes I forget that not everyone follows these things as closely as some of us.

my enthusiasm for the "Hobby " may be more extreme than some................

I certainly understand that, lol
I subscribe to Cigar Aficionado, belong to like 10 forums, and have read about 6 books on Cigars, including Zino Davidoff's book.
So I'm a bit of a Cigar nut too. Just don't have a ton of personal experience due to space and budget.
Have been branching out in the CC world the last 6 months though and have tried a lot of new smokes
