Great flavor, slightly snug draw is only ding. Slightly sweet rich tobacco I’m definitely going to pick up more AF Gran Reserva!!!!

This was gifted and just looked these up and holy smokes Batman. There’s quite a variety of these, and I need to find out which one exactly this is. Burn. Construction and the flavor just keeps giving. I’m truly impressed with this one.

only 1 ashing. And just a question , I guess it construction, but what is it that makes some cigars cool down to the nub and others get too hot to hold with 2” and this one I’m running out of real estate to hold and still cool ? I’m pushing about 1 and 45 minutes with gem and it’s still delivering great taste, no “burn” flavor AF is a standard I wish others could achieve! Used to love the My Fathers, something changed and over the last few months after returning to nc's, every one I have had, i really didn't enjoy at all.

The flavor profile just isn't for me anymore for some reason. Very odd.

@atllogix

How do the regular DPG's compare to the My Fathers?

Have recently had my tastes change and don't care for the My Fathers anymore, but if the regular DPG's are notably different in flavor profile, I would be interested in trying some different ones with my next nc order

Can't answer your question with certainty unfortunately, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it has to do with how filled they are based on my experience.

Ones that are a bit underfilled and have a really open draw seem to get hot sooner than ones that are more filled and have a tighter draw in my experience

Also, all the Gran Reservas are excellent imho. I'm a big Fuente fan so I may be biased, but I think they are all great for the price.

Try the 8-5-8 Sungrown. One of the best of the Gran Reservas imho

I got one of these waiting on me when I get home at 630. I only smoke 4 or 5 of them a year but they are worth every penny, when I do get to smoke one
After a year or so break from smoking nc's to focus on new cc's, i have lost my taste for the Opus X's and anejos for some reason.

Just way to full flavored for me now.

Ended up giving away the 4 Perfexcion X's and Anejos 48's I had left over, plus a Destino al Siglo, a few months ago.

Wish I still had it so I could have given it to you since you seem to be a true lover of them and a fellow navy veteran.

'17 La Aroma de Cuba LE Nobelesse

Excellent, unique flavor, on the milder side and very mellow and smooth.

Draw was fairly tight, should have used my PerfecDraw on it, but got better as it progressed so no big deal.

Construction was excellent.

Burn was persistently off in spite of multiple corrections, but not terribly

Overall a very nice, tasty smoke with a nice longer burn time
