This was an interesting pairing. It was fun having a wine that was precisely two decades older than the cigar, which itself was over two decades old. The Bordeaux was past its prime (1981 wasn't a great vintage), but the cigar was outstanding. It showed bright notes of cherry and spice that were rounded out by cocoa, leather, and almond with a satisfyingly tart finish. The cigar still displayed a significant nicotine kick. Outstanding!
