Had an hour to kill while the GF and her Mom did some antiquing, stopped into the Copper Fiddle Distillery in Lake Zurich, IL. Small but a great vibe, live music on weekends, cool staff. Their own juice is only 2 1/2 years old but shows some promise. I'll definitely be back and watch how the juice improves with age. I tried their cask strength at 121 proof. Young, but with promise.

I'm almost finished with a Pinhook 6 Year sib pick from 2022 by El Cerrito Liquors that has been excellent. So I picked up the 2024 8 Year single barrel from El Cerrito to see if it matches up.

Cracked a Boston Batch of Booker's last night.

Last night I had a pour of Hazmat Elijah Craig Barrel Proof to celebrate the start on the NHL season. The bourbon was better than the games.

Picked up 2 Maker's Mark bottles yesterday, one old favorite (FAE-02 Wood Finished) and a new release (Lost Recipes 1st Edition) that I hope is better than the "Heart" release.

Opened The Reserves last night. Smoky, oaky, vanilla, cocoa....it's special. That being said, first impressions are that I like Little Book Infinite Blend better.

Last night's Knob Creek single barrel, tasty and possibly our best choice in November.

Good hunting days at the end of the week as well as one coming in the mail.

In the wild, I found another Little Book Infinite Blend and 3 new Booker's (24-03 Master Distiller's Blend) at MSRP.

Also picked up another Jay West (T8ke) pick, a 9 year single barrel Pinhook.

When I ttaded for this JDSBBP pick a couple weeks ago, I didn’t realize it was a Jay West (T8ke) pick. Every pick of his I’ve had (Pinhook, Barrell, Knob Creek etc) has been great. This one is even better than that, just a banger. Hard to believe it’s only 127 proof, it's full of flavor and heat. I kind of lucked into this one.
