Last weekend I had a Rafael Gonzales Panatelas Extra and it blew me away!
I mean, for the price it's unbelievable!

Is there any reason why people don't smoke these as much as Petit Coronas, or does people just not write reviews of these?

I have been looking for some cheaper cigars so I can smoke more often.

Do you have any CC to recommend?

I bought some Partagas Mille Fleurs but I have been really disappointed in these. The draw and burn has been terrible.

How would you compare Partagas Mille Fleur to Romeo y Julieta Mille Fleur?
I have been anxious to try those, but have been traumatized :dunno:

I smoked my third Partagas MF just now, the two before was really terrible, this one was little better but still just not a good smoke any way you look at it.

There seems to be too little smoke and they get bitter.

Can I just have such bad luck?

Does anyone fancy these and what is your personal opinion?

Rafael Gonzales cigars are VERY underated imho. I like the Coronas Extras and Lonsdales the best.
Totally in agreement with this. The '02 vintage is especially good. To answer your question, it is common for the thinner ring gauges to have a difficult draw. This is less of a problem with the shorter PC's of similar girth. If you like the thinner CC's, then try the Lonsdales from RG, Partagas, H. Upmann and others. They are prevalent to the south of you.

The Partagas MF probably needs more time, give them a solid couple years.

Try Por Larranaga Pantella, another great small smoke like the RG PE. Excellent with coffee in the morning or between meals as is very mild.

This topic just came up on another board I belong to. I think the first problem is there is a stigma associated with the lesser machine-made cigars. Most people don't give them the time of day since a) they are cheap b) they tend to be smaller cigars and c) they are machine-made.

I have a decent variety on rotation, most with 5-7 years on them. They are great cigars regardless of price. If you treat them like the HM cigars, you will get great satifaction out of them. I prefer MM with cello.

What I like/have in stock:

Por Larranaga Panatelas
Raphael Gonzalez Panatelas Extra
Partagas Petit Bouquet
Partagas Mille Fleur
Partagas Londres Fino
Partagas Lonsdres Extra
Partagas Toppers
RyJ Mille Fleur
RA Belvederes
H Upmann Regalias
H Upmann Majestic
Quintero Brevas
Quintero Panatelas
La Flor de Cano Selectos
La Flor de Cano Preferidos

I got a 2 box 48hr special from one retailer of the RyJ MF's and they were great ROTT I'm not sure what the box date is I'll look when I get home but they were mild. Have you checked any of the Fonseca's? They are a good and inexpensive you can even find some w/ age on them.
