If you like the Laphroaig, there is a 30 year bottle out there and as I understand it it is discontinued. It's running $200+ right now. There's also a 15 year that is much cheaper, but that 30 year just seems like something that should be in a Laphroaig lover's cabinet.
I have tried it Jason and it lacked the character of the 10-year. You know, to paraphrase Tedski: "The 10-year should have a skull and crossbones on it. . ." :headroll: :headroll: I am one of those that love the "slap in the face" that comes from the 10-year. I love the Islay's and when I want a smoother, richer taste, I reach for the Lagavulin. I wish the Port Ellen distillery was still in operation. . .:crytears:

I really like the cask strength version of most single malts, when they can be had at a decent price.

OK, edited my first post. THe last bottle I had was the Glenlivet 15 year French Oak Reserve. Had a pour last night. Found I've been drinking so much bourbon lately that scotch just seems really, really light to me.

I have a 1L Glenlivit 12 year single malt bought on the Disney Wonder cruise ship for $17 bucks last month. Never even tried the stuff, but seemed like a damn good price and people always talk how good Scotch goes with cigars I could not pass on it.

I tried my first glass of Scotch this weekend thanks to Mike (Smokem94).

It was Glenmorangie Port Cask Single Malt.

I liked it a lot. It's kinda funny because, unlike Jason, I liked it because it is lighter then Bourbon. It was very enjoyable IMO.

Found I've been drinking so much bourbon lately that scotch just seems really, really light to me.
