I'm planning on sending a molitov cocktail of sorts to a Brother down south. Anyone have any suggestions on how to package a bottle of spirits for shipment? I hope to do it as covert as possible as I don't want it to be opened as it would get confiscated due to it's origin alone.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

I generally put the bottle inside a large ziplock bag ... then wrap in bubble-wrap or other good cushioning material (padded FedEx bags). Finally, use a box that is several inches larger on all sides than the wrapped bottle. Fill this with more cushioning material ( I use foam "peanuts" and overfill the box ensuring the bottle will not move around ).

Sounds like you are sending him a nice 'vase'.

We get wine from my sister-in-law who lives in Milwaukee. She gets these styrofoam blocks from the liquor store that are made to insert a bottle into. It's pretty cool. Packages them nice and tight and ships them perfectly.

You can try Fed EX for a box to send it. I got a box from tham for checking 12 bottles of nice wine from California. They had singles, doubles and quads also. All made it home safely as checked baggage.

Yea, packaging like the above is the way to go. The bitch about shipping booze is that it's so damn pricey!
