You should have shot him again, or did you leave the bow on the ground?

I hunt deer with bow / gun / primitive weapon. My Dad and I own a small camp house on about 40 acres here in central Mississippi. Big enough for my family and a couple of friends to hunt, have a good time, and sit back at the end of a cold days hunt around a fire sharing stories and having a drink of something to help keep you warm. Some of the best times of my life have been on these hunting trips, not to mention if I get totally bored there are two large casinos about a half hour down the road!!!!

It was when I was just getting out of high school (about 18). Was out with a friend and he let me borrow his compound bow. I had shot it a couple of times before and without thinking I thought it might be fun to go out without a back up (hand gun). got him in the back leg and before I could get another arrow into it, the hog was about 50 yards from me and coming fast. I ran dropping the bow. Ran up a tree and had to waited 2 freaking hours before that damn pig died. That is my embarrassing hunting story.

Look forward to every season. Favorite season would be small game and specifically pheasants. Followed up with buck with a doe tag or two available.

I haven't hunted much in the past few years since I've been so busy with work but I live in an area that some amazing animals have been taken. The World Record Whitetail was shot about 45 miles from where I live, my dad has taken 3 Boone and Crockett moose, and I think anybody who has ever hunted Mule Deer more than once in the area has gotten at least one in the books.

:scratchhe I should really try to make it out this year. Been to long gotta get out again.

The fishing where I work is phenomenal as well. I work at a Uranium mine in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada. Across the lake is a fishing camp that has week long packages starting at $3,500 USD. We can just head out on the lake after work.
