Just finished a Don Carlos #3. Been awhile since I've had one of these - but it's just as I remember.
Medium bodied, woody, some coffee flavors and mild spiciness. Excellent smoke.

By birthday was a little disrupted around here. So last night I sat down with my traditional shot of Crown Royal from a bottle sealed in 1959 (Dad gave me 2 of them before he passed). Smoked an '03 JL Sel #1 and paired it with a short glass of a 25 yr Macallan. Very nice!

Yesterday I sat down played poker with some follow brothers and enjoyed a CAO C X 2. Not a bad smoke at all.

On Friday I stopped by the St. Croix Cigar Company in Hudson, WI and tried an Onyx Reserve. It was pretty good (to my very new and unrefined pallette), but did have a few burn issues and a slightly tighter draw than I would have liked. In addition, the volume of smoke wasn't what I had expected for a cigar. Is that typical?

SLR Series A....

What a fantastic cigar!:smokingbo
A very good smoke and superb value. These can be had at great prices because the demand is low and they are very underrated. Lots of '01, '02 & '03, still around. . .Rumor has it that all three years are quite exceptional. . .:glassesgr
