Good thing this wasn't a different kind of 9 month delivery ... or your head would be the one mounted.

Heather found out she was pregnant on 11/10/06 and I shot that deer on 11/11/06. The due date for the baby was July and the Taxidermist said July for the mount. The big joke was which would come first. She would say..."you know what we are getting in July?" and I would say, "yea, a deer mount!" She found no humor in it.

Needless to say, Baby James beat the deer mount.

Nice deer, what did it score?
Didn't have it scored since there isn't a lot of mass to the antlers.

Edited to add: myself and a buddy have leased a plot of 100 acres the past 5 years. It is about 10 minutes from my house. The deer are scarce and for the most part, small. This one is no monster but in terms of what we have seen on the land the past 5 years, it needed to be mounted.

Any deer (especially legal racked buck) taken in fair chase is a trophy in my book!!! Nice mount, looks very good!!!
