LG enV cellphone

Speaking of cell phone batteries, mine has been driving me nuts for a long time now. I looked for aftermarket ones and finally just got a new factory one from the Verizon store. It lasted several months but was crapping out just like the last one did (the phone was a V710).
I finally decided to get a whole new phone and really wanted a pda type since it would help me with Black Dog emails and all.
Unfortunately, because of where I live the data service is not available where I would need it the most.
I finally settled on the LG enV since it will retrieve email when I'm in network and store it on the phone.
So far I'm really liking it. Anyone out there have one? Is it serving you well?

I think data would work anywhere you can get a signal, it would just be super slow.

I dumped verizon and got onto a sprint employee rate plan ($30/month unlimited data/text) with a new treo for $279 and have been happy ever since.

Nope. My phone plan is with Verizon in VA where I work by day and the section of WV where I live is US Cellular. They have an agreement to allow Verizon to use the cell service from the US Cellular towers but not the data.

Even the email sync doesn't work here (I've been trying since yesterday) but that's not quite so bad. I'm in network in VA enough that most emails get synced while I'm there so I can see all but the most recent, which of course I can get on my computer at home.

The advantage to the stored emails is that I can look at orders that I've been notified of via email and can get phone numbers off of them while I'm out and about on deliveries. Out here in the boonies finding an address can be tricky and it helps to be able to look up the phone number easily to call for directions.

I think you're looking at the future there. An acquaintance returned from Japan a few months ago and said that you don't see cell phones (as we are used to seeing) or Laptops.... just these. People do Everything on them.

My wife has this exact phone and she loves it. Actually she is on her SECOND one. She has this little problem with "losing or misplacing" phones about once a year. I'm happy to report that this phone is very durable and can withstand a beating. Unfortunately your battery issues have not been resolved by purchasing this phone. After about 9 months she started having problems holding a charge. Other than this one small problem....she loves it! I hope you purchased the insurance plan for an extra $5.99 because if there's ever a problem with the phone they will gladly replace it for you. Trust me...."I KNOW"

My friend is over there now. They use the 2D bar codes to provide product info everywhere (like at mcdonalds for telling you nutrition facts about your burger) and they use them to pay for things at vending machines. Pretty crazy.
