For those of you on Verizon or Sprint, here's a phone that's coming out soon that rivals the iPhone. Anticipated price is $600 but that will change I'm sure with the new drop in iPhone pricing. The HTC Touch...the beauty of it is it's WiFi capable as well and it'll run on the faster EV DO Rev A network.

I can't wait to see all the new phones that will be challenging the iPhone. I'm sure I won't be able to afford any of them, initially.

Yuck, it's still EDGE and a 2.0MP camera.
That's because it's the TDMA version on the site....the CDMA version will not be EDGE and it run on the faster EV DO Rev A network. This be out for Verizon soon so it'll have better phone reception and network coverage.

If you'd rather step up to a better phone all together then you should spring for an unlocked Nokia N95 :king:

The n95 is way too thick for me. I've been carrying around an unlocked T Mobile MDA (HTC Wizard) and that thing is thick central. Right now I'm on a SE M600i, which I like, although I miss having a shitty camera.

This has me wondering if Verizon is going to finally get onboard with SIM cards? I've got the HTC S620 which is the unlocked version of the Dash so far I love it, now if Verizon would get SIM cards I could keep my service.

the thing that attracting me to the iphone is its ease of use.
I agree 100%

I could care less about all the techno-geekery terms...CDMA, EDGE, TDMA, EV DO, S620, MDA, HTC, WTF?!?!?

All I want is a phone that doesn't have the same sucky, crappy, pain-in-the-ass interface that all of the REST of the cell phones out there have. I mean, why should I have to suffer digging down 7 layers of cryptic, disorganized menus to actualy DO anything on my current phone?

The iPhone is the first phone I've ever played with that seems to be designed by REAL PEOPLE, not just a bunch of techno-centric engineers.

I think Verizon used to be SIM card only back in the day, but switched when they wanted a bigger share of the phone market.

From what I understand, the US has one of the largest cell phone markets, but the service and products are some of the worst compared to Europe and Asia.
