It's a shame too. I'm a yankees fan, but I was at the game yesterday. Maine had a GREAT start and you think that with Glavine going today, he would have given them a little better effort but he stunk it up big time.

Oh well, at least my Yankees are in the playoffs!!!!!

As a long time Braves fan, I can honestly say that Tom Glavine, while a fine pitcher who will someday be in the Hall of Fame, has a tendency to come unglued when he pitches in important games.

Lord, I still remember his first All-Star start when he gave up what seemed like 10 doubles in a row!

If the Braves can't do anything then I say Red Sox all the way! I use to be bored to tears watching Glavine pitch. Everything was away and only half were stikes. By the fourth ining the ump got tired and started calling all the same pitches strikes. It's a good strategy if he can paint that edge just outside the strike-zone everytime, but when he doesn't eat his Wheaties that day; look out cause he'll implode. I'm not a Mets fan so I don't feel too bad about them falling apart but I think Glavine was fortunate in his move to NY. If he had stayed with the Braves I don't believe he would have been able to continue getting wins (offense wouldn't have been able help). His move to the Mets, while some thought it would jeopardize his chance at the Hall of Fame, basically guaranteed him a place Cooperstown.

To answer the original question ...

It looks like the Mets will be standing around the bar, watching the playoffs on TV.

Tom Glavine according to what I hear is on the shopping list for the Braves this off season.

On this subject, I once hated the Braves and Dale Murphy, yet, Ted Turner's marketing genius turned me in to a lover of the Tomahawk. It chapped my hind parts when TBS went away from Braves only coverage.

Go Braves.

I'm happy, my Phils hamde it in for the 1st time in 14 seasons! Now, as long as we don't get swept in the 1st round, I'll be happy...
