Back in early September I went to the DR's office thinking I was having hemorrhoid problems or something similar.

After many tests, x-rays, CT's, and DR visits, I was diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer and will begin chemo and radiation treatments on Monday, October 8th. 5 weeks, Monday thru Friday. 1st and 5th weeks I will wear a chemo pump (kinda like those work by diabetics) and will recieve radiation every day, again Mon to Fri.

Don't mind saying that I'm a tad scared, but I know it's going to be ok. A wonderful wife and family, friends, and help from the Good Lord are beside me. Kind thoughts and prayers requested.

Kind thoughts and prayers are definitely on their way for you. Best of luck in what must be a very rough time. But you're right -- you'll make it through and it will be okay. Keep that strength!

Dale,

We never know exactly what road it is that this life may have us take. The one thing that those of us who are His children know is that He will never leave us or forsake us.

As one of my passions is Men's Ministry, we deal with this and many other health related issues.

One of the great things about this form of cancer (if there can be such a thing) is that it is treatable and in many cases, men and women can be cured. Another great thing is that because of its being wide spread, men are talking about this in forums like this, with their doctors and with their loved ones.

There are a number of resources available to you and to your family.

In closing, may I offer you these words from Roman 8:15...For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

Be blessed.

Brother Dale,

The power of prayer can be substantial. Many interesting studies conducted on those that were prayed for vs. those that weren't and what the results were.

That being said, you will be in our thoughts and prayers. I am glad that you went to the doctor opposed to neglecting the problem. Early detection is a significant key to success.

Keep you chin up and lean on your friends and family...that is what they are there for.

David

Dale,

You will be in my prayers. In times of trial, I have always liked this verse:

"Don't worry about our life. Consider how the lilies grow. O you of little faith, how much more the Lord cares for you than the grass or birds."

So, "Be on your guard; Stand Firm in the faith, have courage, be strong".
