Of course we don't know the whole story, but that sure looked F'd up to me. The dude got tazered with what appeared to be no given threat other than not speaking English.

IMO, the police brought out the taser way too quickly here. While he was acting oddly and did throw some stuff before they arrived, he obviously was not violent toward them. And they knew he did not speak English. Pretty sad.

Don't blame you. It's not overly graphic, but there's just no need for this kind of crap, not in datums posting it, but the Police in doing it.

i watched most of it.... based on his behavior, objective symptoms (disoriented, breathing very heavy), i would believe him to be under the influence. it'll be interesting to see what the tox says.

he had something in his right hand when he got tazed. you see it as he brings it up to the side of his face, and hear it when it hits the ground.

as for whether or not it was warranted, i wasn't there.

Even though he didn't speak english, he was breaking shit against the windows and it was pretty obvious the police wanted him to put his hands on the counter. He also looked a little messed up on something. I'm not supporting the use of a taser at that point in time, but people should know that you don't fuck around in airports anymore.
If you act crazy and break shit in an airport and then don't comply with the police, you should expect them to use force until you comply.
As to whether or not a taser was the right choice, I have no idea. Wasn't there and am not a cop. Sure beats the hell out of a gun, tho (at least in most cases).

That sucks. The article says they should have used spray or a batton first. Personally I would rather be tased thatn beat with a stick, but if this is the result, I might think differently. I will refrain from the obvious comical response out of respect for an unfortunate death. RIP Bro

Shame on them for tazering the guy. They had superior presence and his level of agitation did not warrant their action.
