Jeff, I saw the commercials for this one and am looking forward to seeing it. It showed one officer (he appeared alone) who stopped a car after a chase, then sprayed pepper spray through the open window and walked back to his patrol car. The oc didn't appear to affect the perp at all and he fired off about 10 rounds from a handgun at the officer.

Is this sop? Shouldn't the officer have approached the car with his gun drawn and ordered them out of the car? It appeared that the officer just assumed the oc would incapacitate the occupants of the car, but he was wrong, with tragic results.

Honest to God, I don't see how law enforcement can go out on the streets every day and face the stuff that you do. My hat's off to all law enforcement everywhere!

This was a very bad stop that unfortunately resulted in a dead officer (if we're thinking about the same one)...

that was tough to watch... we always have to remember what 'less lethal' means! and, you can never count on your tools delivering the desired effect! tasers, oc spray, baton, bean bag shotgun, ARWIN,,, are considered 'less lethal.' always be sure you have lethal backing you up! it's unfortunate, but, i'm going home at the end of the day....

Amen brother!! I am too!... I have been in several shootings and walked away from all. I take the time to train, so when the real thing comes along, I'm ready. I expect that from my troops and keep training them nightly. Its all about having a pre-plan, going home at the end of the ngiht and spending time with your loved ones.

God protect all the police, fire fighters and the millitary!
