I don't get to see many movies when they come out so I usually tivo them when they come on regular tv. I caught Cinderella Man on one of the HD channels the other day.
This is probably one of my new favorite movies. So many great messages in this movie, the scenes of them not having enough food for their kids or the electricity getting shut off, just could help but strike a chord with me. How tough it was during that period of American history. I want my oldest daughter to watch this movie. To see a guy who has nothing, struggling to support his family, take a fantastic ride to the top. If you haven't seen it yet, rent it. I am going to the library tomorrow to get the book. Sorry for the rant! :santa:

great movie!! i also throroughly enjoyed "the greatest game ever played!"
Yes, very cool "true story" of Francis Ouimet. 20 year old amatuer that defeated his boyhood idol-Harry Vardon for the 1913 U.S. Open held at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts.

You won't recognize any of the actors, but it is a very good "true" story.

that's another good one!

in fact, in 1993, i went out for the Sheriff's Posse football team. made the team as a walk-on 3rd string QB (actually got to run the first string offense, since i was the only QB to show up for practice...). Coach Sutton knick-named me Rudy... i had never watched the movie, and kinda took it personal,,, that is until i saw the movie! i got to play one down in one game, "It's official Rudy!" coach didn't want me getting hurt! ha!! several of the guys still call me that today!!

Makes my cry every time.....so I don't watch it anymore.
Alright, if were gonna go with the sports theme/movies.

How bout, Field of Dreams. Ray and his Dad finally get to have that catch.

Man, what I would give to play catch with my old man again. He always had time to throw the the ball with me. Hours and hours, hitting fungos to me. Then driving me allover the state to play. Shit, I'm getting all misty here.......

A good Dad. :crytears:
