Well, one of my employees bought me a little present. Some of you know I love rum. He bought me a bottle of 23 year old Ron Zacapa Centenario aged rum.. OMFG this stuff is awesome... So fricking smooth and is complimenting my cigar tonight. I hear this bottle is about $70. I also got a bottle of single malt scotch, which I havent opened yet. hehe.. Was soooooo stoked about this bottle.

Dave, come on over and drink this with me. It's only about 75 miles.. hehe.

What are you all drinking tonight?

I've been enjoying Zacapa for many years now ... it's one of my favorite sipping rums. The regular online price is around $32 (HiTimeWine).

If you get a chance try Zaya and El Dorado 15yr.

Lately, I've been drinking lots of red wine. Last night I finished a bottle of 2006 Tait (Australian Shiraz)

I didnt believe the price i was told, but had no idea. I also love the Zaya, which is imported by the same folks that import Zacapa. I will have to try the El Dorado now. Thanks.

And I love 10 Cane.. Makes an incredible mojito.. lol... I have 15 different rums... lol.

No I haven't - but thanks for the input. I generally try to stay away from the really well-known / famous labels as you wind up paying for the name as well as the wine (similiar to Fuente or Padron cigars). I know Stags Leap makes some great wine though - hell, they are one of the main reasons for the huge growth in California wineries over the past 30 years.

I'll keep my eye out though - and if this ever goes on sale, I'll snag a bottle to try.

Look towards wine from Paso Robles now.. THERE are some incredible Zins, Pinots, Cabs, Syrah and blends coming out of there. Tobin James, Tolo, Justin, Turley, Carmodie McKnight just to name a few. Not too crazy price wise, but will blow your socks off.

I was in Paso Robles a couple weeks ago. I didn't get to any of the wineries you mention, but did visit:

Booker (good syrah, but pricey)
Calcareous (enjoyed their Bordeaux blend + Syrah)
Eberle (beautiful facility, decent wines)
Garretson (OK, nothing spectacular)
Halter Ranch (pretty good wine)
Hug Cellars (very nice wine + good prices)
Jack Creek (good pinot, but pricey)
Midnight Cellars (good, but the better wines are pricey)
Stacked Stone (OK, nothing spectacular)
Tablas Creek (very good Rhone style wines, somewhat pricey)
Villacana (OK, nothing spectacular)
York Mountain (OK, good prices though)

Just cracked open a bottle of 2002 Eckert Estate Malbec tonight. The grapes are from Lodi and their winery is in Livermore. Very smooth and drinkable wine.
