I know many of you had beautiful White Christmas mornings, and while I am slightly envious as I have never had snow on my lawn X-mas morning, the envy stops there.
We had the car packed Saturday night the 22nd and were on the road by 7Am on Sunday Morning. After a straight shot to the border and about 25 minutes of easy driving in Mexico, we were at our destination. We were unpacked by 9:30 in the morning and ready to enjoy. We rented a little house just north of Rosarito , just south of Tijuana. The house was acctually a beat up doublewide, but the inside was decent enough, for $100 a night it was great. That first day we went to the big grocery store and bought some tequilla, El Jimador, and a bottle of Margarita mix, a ritual we would repeat each day we were there. We also got a huge pile of carne asada from the butcher, and some other crap we didn't bring. The only charcoal they have is Mesquite coals, and lighter fluid, I was sceptical if it would light, but it worked perfectly. The fiorst night we made Carne asada tacos on the mini weber grill and did the same the second night as well. The thhird dinner was some butterfied chicken breasts, I had the butcher season for us. cooked outside on the grill as well.
As far as cigars go, I had

Monte #2 with some age--awesome
Waves were shitty and blown out the first day. the wind was on-shore--meaning it was blowing at us from the sea and it knocks the waves down..I didn't even go in the water\
Day 2 waves, were a little bigger, and with some noice shape when the wind slowed down, went out for a couple of hours and had some fun with the local dolphin population.
Day 3 waves...MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!!!
I woke up at 6am when I heard the kids stiring and heard a noise that sounded like a truck driving by the house, but it kept driving by. I looked out the window and saw the best present Sants could have brought me. We opened presents and ate breakfast. I couldn't wait to get in the water. The wind had completely switched directions to a perfect off shore the really hollowed out the waves into beautiful peeling barrels. The swell also increased to 5-7 foot, meaning the face of the waves were anywhere from 8-12 feet. Don't get me wrong, in waves that big, my out of shape ass got handed to me a couple of times. It took me aboiut 45 minutes just to paddle out, and I am still sore from the swim. However, the rides were second to none. The waves had a huge wide open shoulder and the wind opend the barrels up the size of a small bedroom. I wish I had been in better shape, i would have been able to stay out longer. here are some pics
