I don't know about the rest of you, but how many of you are sick of the election news on tv or on the radio. This not a rant on political views. I am just fed up with all of the hype. My God, we have eleven months to go, this has been going on for a year now. I have never seen so much BS on tv. Why can't we have all the primary's on one day, and then go from there.

With 250+ television channels and 100+ radio stations, I'm never at a loss for other choices to avoid the BS.

And as much as I hate the campaign bologna by all the candidates, I do think everyone should get as much info as they can on the issues and people running for office. This country has far too many apathetic citizens - who then complain the loudest when idiots + idiotic laws win the election based on only 44% of eligible voters.

I agree with 100%, peaple should actually make an effort to make an informed decision. But does that happen?

Fuck the hype, I'm rather pissed off about the dereliction of duty and the waste of the citizen's tax dollars paying for senators that are too busy running for another office to pay attention to their current ones.

Although in my case, in NY, we call that a blessing.

But still, its wrong.

what amazes me is that some politicians with so little experience can actually be chosen to be president.

I'm one of those suckers who really loves this stuff. It's exciting that Iowa was so strongly in favor of "change" in the government. It's time for some change in the way things work (though it would take more than just a president). Or maybe I'm just a nerd who likes these things too much.

hmmmm, sounds like my "decay of american society" theory...
I was thinking that too. While I haven't jumped into that discussion, I've been reading it. People have given up when it comes to this. Like Ted said 44% or registered voters turn out, and not everyone is registered. I could start up on the Ellectoral College but that's another topic..Either way, In CA a Republican Vote doesn't count and in TX and Dem vote doesn't count. Popular vote is the way to go. But yeah I'm sivk of this shit on TV too.

I really don't see any politcal change in our lifetime, we have too many power hungry, greedy politicians out there. If there is a honest one, it dosen't take long for them to be in the pocket of some big lobbyist. But looking on the other side of the coin, I am proud to be an American, yeah, we have problems, but there is no other place I rather live. Well maybe the South Pacific.
