when using the iphones web browser, webpages look same as when using my home computer. Will the Verizon Voyager be same? or do pages look different?

I don't know but my subscription for Verizon is done in March, and I want a phone that has WIFI capabilities, and I will either go with Sprint of Nextel! There are only a couple phones out now with this capability.

The iPhone has Wifi. It uses the EDGE (2.5G) when not on a Wifi network.

From all the things I've seen I'd have to say it's not even close. The iPhone browser capabilities are the main attraction for me. I plan on snagging one in May when my Nextel contract is up. The Voyager's selling points are the Vcast TV, Bluetooth...yada yada. I've seen videos of people using it...doesn't seem to be advanced in browser capability. But, it's alot cheaper and on a better network. I'll stick with the iPhone though.

Nevermind, I found where it says no WAP stuff...full pages for the most part.

Sounds like a real step ahead...the 3G is very nice. Much faster than EDGE. If it had Wi-Fi I think it'd be a real winner.

Yes, you can browse the web similar to your PC, the voyager OS is windows mobile and internet explorer mobile is included. I will say I prefer the iPhone though....

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting the Voyager. I love my Iphone and wouldn't want anything to do with the Voyager. I've heard all kinds of people down on AT&T's network, but for me, it's worked BETTER than Verizon. I may be a unique case, but for whatever reason, my house is a dead spot for Verizon and it's been pissing me off for 2 years. I'm happy to be done with Verizon for the second time (had them years ago). If AT&T gets my first bill correct they'll have topped Verizon 100% (both times with Verizon it took them months to get my bills correct).

The phone to watch, IMHO, is the upcoming Nuvi phone from Garmin.

I've got the Voyager...it's a solid phone on a much better network than AT&T.
I have a Blackberry via AT&T for work and the call/data coverage on it absolutely sucks!
There were so many dead spots by my house they had to erect a tower not far away. And forget trying to use it in the Metro/Amtrak! But the Voyager works just fine...and I can change the battery myself!

Web surfing on the iPhone and syncing music with iTunes is superior to the Voyager. Plus, third party developers have come up with pretty cool apps/widgets for the iPhone.

However, everything else in the same if not better on the Voyager. Tactile feedback, emails and texting via QWERTY keypad, voice quality and overall national coverage are superior on the Voyager/verizon network. The broadband speeds on the Verizon network are plenty fine for me and no viruses on the Voyager either!

I've used both a lot so it comes down to what you'll be using it for. Since I text and email a lot, the Voyager is a better choice for me since it has the physical QWERTY keypad. Also, I can't stand AT&T's dead-spot ridden network so I stayed with Verizon's. If you plan on surfing the web primarily and want to sync your MP3's with iTunes, then go with the iPhone.

The iPhone now has a 16GB version available for $499 vs the 8GB for $399.
Personally I don't see the point in releasing this version considering we've already been told (by AT&T's CEO) that a 3G phone WILL be released this year. That means an entirely new version of both iPhones will be released within the next 10 months. Of course, this 16GB version might entice people that were planning on waiting to go ahead and buy.
People still within the 2 week trial period are already trading in their 8GB phones to get the 16GB and people outside that time period are already pissed that they can't trade up. I really just don't get some of Apple's strategies lately.

This year could be next fall or something, they want to keep selling the things so they bump the sizes. They update their products every 6 months on some stuff so theres always people who are gonna be pissed.

M y buddy has an Iphone, but hacked it to use on his T-mobile account. As long as your t-mobile account has the data package, you are good to go. His bill is half of his old Iphone bill. I'm sure sometime they will figure out how to stop this, but as of now he is running just fine

I know too many people that Are not satisfied with their Iphones. I personally have a Samsung SCH-i760 from Verizon and love it. Its pretty fast on braodband speeds for the internet. At least for a handheld!

I just got the Verizon XV6800 and it is WIFI capable and has a touch screen. So far I like it.

Really? I've found the total opposite to be true.

I have 4 close friends that have them plus 3 co-workers within my department that have an iPhone, and all 7 of those people friggin *LOVE* their iPhone.

Fromm what little I've layeed with any of them, the web browsing on it is truly spectactular, and the multi-touch is just mind-blowing! Other phones may have touch, but the multi-touch is where it's at.

PS - I don't have one, and don't plan on getting one. I'm just relaying what I hear from the folks I know.

I've yet to run into anyone who really is unhappy with their iPhone. Unhappy with AT&T's service? Yeah, I hear that everywhere. But as I said, for whatever reason, AT&T works great for me so far where I live.
