Wow that is luker, I have only gotten out once this year going Ice Fishing, Just no time and get this , with all the cold weather, the bigger lakes here in MN r just now getting good Ice to get out on....

the last pic is them setting up to spear the fish. the bait. and spear. would be very fun. and to think living in wisconsin ive never fished for stergeon.

That is one big fish!

Do they taste good?
One of the very best tasting fish I have ever eaten. Back in the late 70's we use to catch many of them in the ~75 lb. range along the west coast of WA. Sturgeon can live in salt or fresh water. We caught them in the tidal areas, but I have talked to divers who have seen very, very large fish behind some of the dams along the Columbia River, meaning those fish have lived in fresh water for their lifetimes.

Here is one caught up around Hell's Canyon on the Snake River.

Use to go up to Black Lake every February for spearing and Walleye on tip ups. Now I think they use some sort of lottery just to have a chance to spear one.
