Hey Guys,

I have an HP laptop with Vista...I know, I know. I've downloaded:

DVD Shrink
DVD Decrypter
Ripit4me

I've used these programs to make backup copies of DVD's I have and it's worked perfectly. Now for some reason I can't get them to work. Does anyone else use these and have experienced problems as well? Are there any other programs I can use to make backup copies of DVD's?

Thanks,
Wade

I use all of those now, with no problems. Have you tried running them in XP compatibility mode?

Try an older DVD if it works for that and not new ones you just need updated software, the industry has modified encryption techniques several times. If it wont work for older movies either than something else is wrong, I would reinstall everything, or try another set of software.

If you just installed these and they are the latest versions, I use DVD idle along with xcopy and it works fine.

The weird thing is is that I used the same exact programs on the same computer to copy the same disc a couple weeks before. Now for some reason it won't work. Strange!

What have you done to your laptop recently? Installed any other software? Made any other changes, even small ones?

Have you tried reinstalling those programs? it could be that a change you made (or possibly spyware made?) that is causing the programs not to work. I'd reinstall and try again.

HTH,

Ted
