well, after getting my accu monitor parts, the plywood, the new bandsaw fence I finally picked up my shipment of spanish cedar from my local wood supplier.
I am so damn happy. all 8/4, 7feet long, 7-10" pieces of rough sawn, awesome smelling spanish cedar.

104 board feet all in all. and the best part, only $5.53/bdft:drool:

now I just need to decide on the wood for the actual humidor.
and as soon as Jill is home and feeling better, i'm gonna start building..
so here it is

can you just smell it???

I can't wait to get going on this, in the last couple of weeks I didn't have much time for anything

to be fun to follow!

Are you building a room or just adding to one? What do the plans look like?

I've been thinking of doing a closet and lining it and make shelves and stuff.

Wow! That is a ton of spanish cedar! I am contemplating building a humidor inside my house as well. I have done some wood work in the past and am excited to see how yours turns out. Are you going to add a cooling unit?

probably about the same size as Wade's humidor 72x36x24 ish.
it'll have at least 2 or 3 singles drawers and 4-5 shelves, many dividers, drip tray, trays for the bottles and such. if I did buy too much, I can always build a desk top humidor and sell it to recover some of the cost.

man I am excited

Dude, what the hell, do you have that cedar in your living room, Jill's gonna come home from the hospital and wonder what the new potpourri is!

Looking good buddy, can't wait for you to finally get started, I know you're excited to get going. Looks like the top one on the short stack has a little bend to it. Nice job of stickering by the way!

Nice wood bro

not a bad reputation to have:nodlaugh:

as for the bent wood, yeah, two of the pieces have a little bend, they will be perfect for the drawer and shelf stock.
and that's not my formal living room anymore, that's my little photo studio, not set up right now though. this is where I take studio shots of friends and such and set up for product photography.

once I build the furniture for it though.........
