Got my beads and socks today from Heartfelt.

Question on the sock. I am concerned about the moisture of the beads infiltrating the sock and soaking the cedar in my humi. Yet alone causing mold.

Any insite from you experts?

Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.

I use a tray, the larger and flatter the better. The beads will be the most effective with the largest surface area you can create.

I use a nylon Knee high stocking and have had no issues, just make sure the beads are not dripping with water. Also when the beads are sitting on my sticks, I make sure they are on the sticks with cellophane.

I also use a tray. A small leftover one I got with my humidor that had the old foam stuff in it. Now that I see Wade's post I might need to go flatter though.

Beads shouldn't be that moist. I have four going in my ice chest, without any problems.

After you add water to them, let them rest for a few minutes so the beads can absorb any excess moisture.

Remember only about 80% of the beads should be clear(moist).

In using the tray. Is that without the sock?

The beads I have in there currently are in a 2X6 plastic tray.

If the sock feels wet, too much distilled water. let'em dry out. I have two, one I add water too the other I don't. Works good for my cool-a-dor.

I use mine with the sock because my tray is not very deep.

I might be going about it wrong though. But its working for me.
