The Masters

Well gentlemen, those who seem to spend their summers (or life) chasing that little white pill around the ground for 5 hours. Though knowing the best thing about the game is the time to enjoy a wonderful smoke. It is that wonderful time of the year again where we sit down for 4 days and witness one of the craziest golf tournaments ever played.

As I reminised (spelling) of all the times I have gone there for the tournaments, one sticks out more than the others. Especially when I ran into the following photo. I believe it was 2001, when Marth Burke tried to break the sanctity of Augusta by forcing the membership to allow a female members. The problem for Martha was that Augusta is a PRIVATE club. And the membership rules. Not the press.

Because of the "bad press" that Martha was bringing to the table that year. The city of Augusta passed an ordanance banning Martha from demonstrating in front of the club. They had to relocate 1 mile away at a park. Where this picture was taken.

In a small way, that whole crap ruined just a little bit one of my favorite weeks of the year, Masters week. But damn, I've always loved that pic.

Like, choose a man-the player that finishes closest to the top or wins gets sticks from everbody else that participated in the pool.

Well, it actually did happen at the 2003 Masters, except that the guy had a sign saying "MAKE MY DINNER", but there was no photo. Some enterprising souls took it upon themselves to create one.

I have been going every year in the 2000's except for last year. Wish I knew you then.

I am coming down for the Monday practice round. We are getting in on Saturday morning. Plan to jump from the car to a golf cart. Let's make a plan to get together. Don't know where we are staying yet, but probably close to the course. We usually end up at Hooters at night.

Let's see how it pans out. The other three clowns I travel with don't smoke "cigars". So hopefully we end up at a location that we (you and I) can herf. If not, we can relocate. I need no babysitter.

Can't wait to take a shitload of pictures of me herfin at Augusta to share with the BOTL.

And I will take the rest of the field. I like Serg, and he is overdue, but he has too much going on in his head. He can't beat whatever demons he has. He is a "historical trainwreck" comin down the stretch.

Again, I would love to see him win. But I don't see it happening. And at Augusta, I don't think he is within 5 shots from the lead. I would not be surprised for him not to make the cut.

One last thing, did he make the invite? I didn't think he ranked to get a hall pass. I will have to check that out.
