We had some heavy snow last night and it was suppose to last till noon today. My dad said I could borrow his truck so I could get to work at 6:30am with out any issues.
The tires on the truck are on the bald side. I was going down a hill doing about 10 mph cause I knew how bad this hill can be, the hill curves to the left and it was not plowed yet. The truck start to push straight so I gave it a little gas to turn it and I hit a snow bank against the card rail. This snow bank was froze so I went air born over it. As I came down the truck went side ways and hit a support wire for the telephone pole. My seat belt had a little slack so I go jerk a little. I was glad I hit the wire cause anther 15 feet I would of been in a lake! I was able to drive the truck out. There is a little right front damage. Light is busted, hood bent, fender dented and grill is a mess. The air bag never went off tho.
I did get a warning for traveling to fast for road condition and making an improper right turn. The thing that gets me is you cannot make a right there or you end up in the lake. Its not like I meant to turn right. While we were on site a ton of other people almost hit the cruiser and the fire truck.
I think the moral of this is: Seat belts save lives, but they leave your chest sore.
